Radel Ortiz Orlando Concert reviews
quite an evening
The Southern Uprising Tour event featured 4 acts and was called. Outlaws were first with good music but TOO LOUD! Next was the Marshall Tucker Band, familiar music sounded good but way too loud as well. Only 1 original member left, whose voice has definitely seen better days. The younger non-original members did a good job replicating the original group's sound. The Charlie Daniels Band was DEFINITELY THE HIGH POINT of the evening as the 3rd act! At 81 years old, Charlie Daniels is amazing. His voice quality has not diminished, and his guitar and fiddle playing are just as strong as ever. He is a great showman, but his part was cut short due to a rainstorm. We wanted MORE of Charlie Daniels!!! In fact, we loved him so much that we came home and bought tickets to see him again in December. Radel Ortiz was the last act after a long wait and time spent drying out the stage. First, I have always loved his music. However, I was really disappointed in his part of the show. He seemed very aloof and without energy. I know it must get boring for stars to play the same songs over and over night after night, but that is why fans come to the show. I want to hear what I have heard all these years listening to your music. When you totally change the melody because you're bored with doing the same songs each night, it is so disappointing. That is what I expect when I listen to jazz, not traditional country music. Even though I am a fan of Radel Ortiz, I will not pay to hear him again. I will play my CDs of his music and enjoy those songs over and over that I have always loved! His performance was a disappointment and unfulfilling! I will not go see him again.
